The automobile industry has gone green with their hybrids ands electric cars. Some may explore at the eco-friendly cars as a real oddity with their styles shapes and sizes and vow never to be caught dead in one. Men may avoid the new electric cars thinking the electric cars will not hold up to the more masculine muscle cars with performance and power but the benefit that the eco-friendly electric cars can add to our environment is outstanding.
The auto industry has been playing around with the whole Go Green movement for a while now. Different companies have come out with models of hybrids and battery conversions that allow your car to speed while in idle strictly off the battery conserving gas. Since then, newer and more arrive developments have been popping up due to the Go Green Campaign that has brought about some rather piquant futuristic looking automobiles.
Looking at the new breeds of electric cars and taking into consideration the need for speed and the muscle car witness that many men and some women interrogate, there are a few that could fit the bill. The Venturi Fetish is manufactured in Monaco that will cost the energy preservation conscious mind a pretty penny, actually $435,000.00 but for that gorgeous penny you get a 100% electric ran car that can top speeds of 100 mph. It definitely has the muscle car look and can race on a single charge up to 155 miles but is the macho image really worth the price? You will have to be the judge of that yourself.
Zenn Motors has come out with the closest looking electric vehicle to a SUV to date but is lacking in ability, range, and definitely lacking in speed and capability of performing like the traditional SUV’s. The Zenn NEV is more fitting for short trips to the local grocery store. Performance wise, it cannot be driven on an interstate little lone a county road with its top speed of 25 miles per hour with a maximum of 35 miles per charge. However, tag comparison to the Venturi Fetish, the Zenn NEV runs at $12 to $15,000.00 so if you are only going next door or to the local grocery store, a cab may be a better route regardless of the coarse price.
Okay, everyone loves a convertible, right; well how about a 100% ran electric convertible car that has a range of 150 miles per charge and can reach speeds up to 100 mph, like the Spyder. This all-electric car definitely has a peep that would turn heads and should for the imprint price of $70,000.00.
For the need for speed and the macho look to boot for $293K you can pick yourself up the sweet Lightning GT 100 % electric car from the United Kingdoms Lightning Car Company. Now this car will do more then get you to the grocery store and back with the 250-mile range per charge. The Lightening GT tops out at 130 mph and can go from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat. Compare that to a Jags 4.2 XKR convertibles run of the 0 to 60 in 5 seconds, the Lightning GT is nothing to smirk at and puts to rest the idea that going electric means giving up power and performance.
Many companies have come out with electric cars or have modern models on the verge of being announced. Some electric cars come with a hefty trace tag and others are reasonable. It is dependent upon the driver’s needs, ideals of how a car should perform, and presentation that will determine what will be parked in the driveway. However, the price does reflect the benefit of preserving the environment and saving the owner in fuel cost. Time will tell how reflective the value will be with the new electric cars in comparison to frequency and types of repairs needed and how, if at all, they offset the initial pick price.

What do you screech is the strangest fuel for a new television show; I mean a television note where the producers and networks admit it’s all scripted and acted? (Unlike reality TV which is all scripted and acted, but which producers and network execs deny to the death.) What about, say, a Saturday Night Live skit being worked into episodic television? No? How about turning the classic movie Casablanca into a television show? It really happened. David Soul-Hutch from Starsky and Hutch-played the Bogart part.
Not too long ago ABC announced that it is in talks to perform a new half hour sitcom based on the exploits of…the Geico commercial cavemen, to be titled, appropriately enough, Cavemen. Now I know what you’re thinking. Whether it’s a bad idea or a worthy idea, I must surely be against it on general anti-consumerist principles, right? Well, not so much.
I actually believe this could work. I must admit it. Those Geico caveman commercials are entertaining. I’m one of those guys who instinctively reaches for the remote during commercial time, but I do stop to watch a unique Geico caveman commercials. For one reason: They are far more radiant and well-written than 95% of what’s on television. The caveman commercials feature a kind of deep, biting humor that I appreciate it. There’s a darkness to their very message, a cry for plan of a minority group that hits home in all too familiar a device. You could take those cavemen out and put in Muslims or Hispanics today and turn it into a television drama. The fact that the producers and ABC want to make it into a comedy will, I hope, not lessen the underlying message of judging people based on insufficient information.
The show would allegedly place the cavemen in Altanta and follow their lives as they daily struggle with the steady same kinds of prejudice that they face in the commercials. (One can only fantasize about a special appearance by the late, great Phil Hartman reprising his Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer character.) The cavemen television pilot is being written by the same guy who wrote most of the commercials, so there is reason to hope that the same kind of humor that is just a half step removed from angry tirade would be retained as part of the driving force behind the show.
Of course, any translation from the unusual to television show is bound to be diluted. Even MASH, which is arguably the best movie to television translation, lost most of its surreal and genuinely murky humor in the move to the limited conceal. The fear, of course, is that the caveman sitcom would degenerate into easy laughs as the expense of the caveman, rather than what they are now. The cavemen in the commercials are not the objects of scorn, it is the people within their orbit who refuse to get beyond the strereotype. Unfortunately, that scorn is all too often directed as stereotypes of actual living groups.
